Silver Quill Awards

IABC Africa region launches Silver Quill Awards programme

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Africa Region has kicked off the 2019 Regional Silver Quill Awards programme. The programme recognises business communication excellence across the continent, and is acknowledged as one of the most prestigious global communication awards.

All entrants into the IABC Africa Silver Quill Awards will be encouraged to enter the 2020 global awards programme, which will be presented at an Excellence Gala as part of the IABC’s World Conference in 2020.

The Quill Awards are unique to the industry because they recognise work that makes a significant contribution to business outcomes. Evaluators will review each entry against IABC’s standard of excellence, encouraging the pursuit of excellence rather than competition. Evaluators specifically look for entries where communicators are able to demonstrate the impact their work had on business goals and are innovative and unique.

It is time for recognition and reward from our peers, says André Oberholzer, IABC Africa Regional Chairperson. He adds, African communicators consistently produce exceptional work, helping to implement corporate strategies, to build stakeholder relations, to drive public policy and to engage and enthuse employees. We drive growth and development across the continent. The IABC recognises communication excellence at a regional and at a global level. I would like to invite all communicators, whether members of IABC or not, to submit your work, have it reviewed against the IABC standards of excellence and learn from the experience. We promise a thorough judging process, with detailed feedback to help you grow as a communicator; and by entering the IABC African Silver Quill Awards you receive valuable input if you wish to thereafter enter the IABC Global Gold Quills Awards. In today’s world of fake news, it has become even more important for great communicators to be recognised, rewarded and celebrated.
