Do SA entrants have to submit their entries locally first?

How do the entries get to the U.S.?

After being judged locally, the selected entries are couriered to San Francisco, California, for further judging by IABC. The entries are sent from here by no later than 10 March 2008 in order to arrive in the U.S. by 17 March 2008.

When are the entries judged?

The entries that are received locally are judged here in South Africa by a panel of judges by March 2008, the finalist entries who receive a score of 5.25 or higher are then sent to San Francisco by no later than 10 March 2008. The finalist entries will be judged by the International Blue Ribbon Panel in San Francisco by the middle of March 2008.

When are winners notified?

Winners of awards are notified in April 2008 via email.

What if my entry is not a winner?

Finalists and entrants who don't have a winning entry will be notified by May 2008. An evaluation form will be sent to entrants by post for each entry that is submitted.

What are the deadlines for entries?

Early-bird deadline is 5 February 2008 and the final deadline is on 12 February 2008. Absolutely no extensions will be given! Please ensure that you send your entry/entries early enough to allow for delivery time so that they reach the regional coordinator by the deadline dates.

What is the cost of an entry and how do I pay?

For early-bird entries the cost per entry is:
Members: $140
Non-members: $240
Join IABC and enter: $425

For final deadline entries the cost per entry is:
Members: $240
Non-members: $340
Join IABC and enter: $525

Payments need to be paid to IABC online at the IABC website, who will then send you a confirmation email which you will have to print and send to the regional coordinator with your entry. It is recommended that you make a copy of the email confirmation. Should you need an invoice, please request one on the international website.

When are the winners recognised?

Winning entrants will be recognised during the IABC International Conference in New York City that runs from 22 to 25 June 2008. Winners will be presented with their award at IABC Gold Quill Awards Ceremony on 23 June 2008.

Do I get my entry back from the IABC?

Any materials and entries that are submitted are not returned to the entrants. All received entries become and remain the property of IABC.
